Waddlebird
The Inspiration
The Waddlebird is our name for another spectacular bird, the Kiwi Bird. Native to only New Zealand, the Kiwi Bird is one of the most striking, memorable animals on the planet. Most closely related to the Ostrich, the Kiwi Bird is roughly the size of a chicken. It is a flightless bird and has short, stubby legs, giving it the apperance of 'waddling' as it walks.
There are five unique species of Kiwi Bird, all of which are endangered according to the IUCN. The species are as follows: The Great-Spotted Kiwi, The Little-Spotted Kiwi, Rowi, Tokoeka and the North Island Brown Kiwi.
