Parma Wallaby
Back from Extinction
Range
Australia and surronding islands
The Parma Wallaby was believed to be extinct during the 1800's. In 1965, workers working to control a massive group of Tammar Wallabies found that some of the animals were in fact Parma Wallabies. The Parma Wallabies were sent off to a protected habitat with the hopes of revitilizing the habitat. Another similar incident occured in 1967. The conservation efforts have been relatively successful. The Parma Wallaby remains very rare and still relies on conservation efforts, but extinction in unlikely.
