Waddlebird So Far
South African Hot Spot Conservation.
Many times, people feel like their money gets lost when they donate. At Waddlebird,
we make sure our donations are going straight to projects we are passionate about,
and it only seemed right to let everyone know where that is.
We target Conservation Hot Spots, or areas of intense biodiversity. Hot Spots make up
less than 2% of land mass, but more than half of the worlds plants and animals call
these places home.
The first Hot Spot we donated to is called
the Succulent Karoo on the Southwestern
coast of Africa. We were able to protect
over 140 acres of this hot spot, no doubt
saving hundreds of different endangered
species habitats'.
Waddlebird hosted Menlo School's
(Atherton, California) Eath Day festivities.
Sarah Frazee, the Director of South
Africa from Conservation International
was the keynote speaker. She provided
the students with incredible images of
the regions biodiversity and great insight
into how she involves locals to promote
Conservation.
