The Penguin is one of the most popular animals around the world. While the penguin is somewhat awkward on land, it is sleek and graceful underwater. The tuxedo print is specialized for survival in the water. Their diet consists of aquatic prey, including squid, krill, and fish.
The penguin is exclusively a Southern Hemisphere species, but does not live exclusively in Antarctica. In fact, some species of penguin live as far north as the Galapagos Islands.
Different species of penguins range from Least Concern to Endangered on the IUCN Conservation Rating Scale. There are also a few known species of extinct penguins.
