Waddlebird's mission is to protect endangered species and their crucial habitat, establish conservation education and awareness programs, and help communities around the world build a sustainable relationship with nature.
To achieve this mission, we have teamed up with Conservation International, the leader in Hotspot conservation. Hotspots are the world’s most biologically rich, diverse and most threatened ecosystems. They make up less than 2% of the Earth’s surface, but contain more than 50% of the plants and animals.
Due to climate change and deforestation, the current extinction rate is one thousand times the natural rate. At this rate, 1/3 of all species will go extinct between now and 2050 - that's over a million species!
Since we printed our first shirt in the end of 2008, we have protected 517 crucial acres. We have sold shirts to supporters and conservationists all around the world and have established education and awareness programs at some of the country's top universities.
